Total tractor sales (Domestic + Exports) during September 2024 were at 44256 units, as against 43210 units for the same period last year.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.’s Farm Equipment Sector (FES), part of the Mahindra Group, today announced its tractor sales numbers for September 2024.Domestic sales in September 2024 were at 43201 units, as against 42034 units during September 2023.Total tractor sales (Domestic + Exports) during September 2024 were at 44256 units, as against 43210 units for the same period last year. Exports for the month stood at 1055 units.

Commenting on the performance, Hemant Sikka, President – Farm Equipment Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said “We have sold 43201 tractors in the domestic market during September, a growth of 3 per cent over last year. Monsoon rainfall has seen an increase of 7.5 per cent over LPA and this has helped increase in Kharif sowing of all crops except cotton. Reservoir levels have recovered very well and are now at 13 per cent higher than LPA, which augurs very well for a bumper Rabi crop. On the back of good kharif crop and likely strong Rabi crop, rural sentiments are positive. With positive terms of trade for farmers and upcoming festivals, we expect robust demand for tractors going forward.   In the exports market, we have sold 1055 tractors.”

(M&M) today unveiled ‘Desh ka Tractor: Mitti se Juda, Junoon se Saja’, a unique initiative in honour of the Indian farming community.

A tribute to the hardworking farming community in India, Mahindra Tractors showcased a life-sized tractor-themed sculpture that embodies the spirit of toughness of the farming community, inspired by the design of Mahindra’s renowned ‘Yuvo Tech Plus’ tractor. Innovative and imaginative, the sculpture reflects the diversity of Indian farming and crafted with blends of varied soils collected from over 4000 farms across the country, showcasing the strong bond that exists between Mahindra and Indian farmers.

The essence of ‘Mitti se Juda Junoon se Saja’, embodies Mahindra Tractors spirit to create farming solutions that are connected to the land, with the practicality to work across all kinds of terrain efficiently and effectively. It symbolizes our ‘junoon’ (obsession) to transform farming and enrich lives across India and the world – over the last 60 years and beyond.

The sculpture was unveiled today, in the presence of Vikram Wagh, CEO, Farm Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. at a function held at the company’s Nagpur manufacturing facility.

 Wagh explained the essence of the initiative, saying, “As we celebrate this milestone of serving 40 lakh customers over 60 years, we wish to acknowledge the farmers’ trust that has enabled us to achieve this feat. It has inspired us to create ‘Desh ka tractor’, showcasing the strong bond between Mahindra Tractors and the hardworking, relentless, and courageous Indian farmer. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to all who helped us reach this milestone.”

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.’s Farm Equipment Sector (FES), part of the Mahindra Group, announced its tractor sales numbers for June 2024.Domestic sales in June 2024 were at 45888 units, as against 43364 units during June 2023. Total tractor sales (Domestic + Exports) during June 2024 were at 47319 units, as against 44478 units for the same period last year. Exports for the month stood at 1431 units.

Commenting on the performance, Hemant Sikka, President – Farm Equipment Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said “We have sold 45888 tractors in the domestic market during June ’24, a growth of 6 per cent over last year. The government’s announcement of increased foodgrain production, an increase in MSP for major Kharif crops, and further advancement of the Southwest monsoon across the country brings positive sentiments with farmers. With retail momentum having picked up, supported by land preparation and an increase in Kharif crop sowing, demand for tractors is likely to remain strong in the upcoming months. In the export market, we have sold 1431 tractors, a growth of 28 per cent over last year.”

Under this MoU, Mahindra and MSDE will conduct two pilots at National Skill Training Institutes (NSTI) at Hyderabad and Noida to skill 500 women in exclusive batches of 20 women only.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., India’s leading Farm Equipment company and the world’s largest tractor manufacturer by volume signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) to conduct two Pilots under the Drone Didi Yojna. Launched earlier this year, the scheme aims to train 15,000 women to operate drones for agricultural purposes such as fertiliser sowing, crop monitoring and seed sowing, thereby creating new livelihood opportunities for women through imparting skills in new technology areas.

Under this partnership, Mahindra and MSDE will conduct two pilots at National Skill Training Institutes (NSTI) at Hyderabad and Noida to skill 500 women in exclusive batches of 20 women only. The 15-day curriculum approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation will be delivered through RPTO (Remote Pilot Training Organisation) instructors at these Centers.

Within this partnership, the NSTIs will provide infrastructure for running the training programme, hostel for participants and tap into local Women Self Help Groups and NGOs to mobilise participation. Mahindra Group will provide initial set-up support through simulation machinery/drones, simulator controller, simulator software, Desktop computer with i5 Processor and trainers, and meet the operating costs for the duration of the Pilot project, including the cost of DGCA License Holder Instructors at the centres.

The learnings and outcomes from the Pilot project will assist MSDE in scaling up the Drone Didi Yojana at identified NSTIs/ITIs across the country.  As a further support to the intent of the Drone Didi Yojana, Mahindra will soon roll out Drone training for women at the company’s skilling centres at Zaheerabad, Telangana and Nagpur, Maharashtra.

Total tractor sales (Domestic + Exports) during February 2024 were at 21672 units, as against 25791 units for the same period last year. Exports for the month stood at 1551 units.

Commenting on the performance, Hemant Sikka, President – Farm Equipment Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said “We have sold 20121 tractors in the domestic market during February 2024. Southern and western states continue to face agri stress due to erratic and deficient monsoon. However, Rabi crop outlook is very good, with wheat crop likely to be a bumper crop. Harvesting has started in few states with the government supporting early procurement of wheat crop. Continued government support through various rural schemes and enhanced institutional credit will further help boost tractor demand going forward. In the export market, we have sold 1551 tractors, a growth of 32 per cent over last year.”

Government announcement of a good estimate of Horticulture production, and continued government support to boost rural economy will aid positive sentiments and support tractor demand in the coming months. In the exports market, we have sold 976 tractors.”

Company ramps up production of the new Swaraj 8200 Smart Harvester at new plant in Pithampur.

Building on its rich legacy of introducing India’s first indigenously developed harvester, Swaraj Tractors, a division of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., recently launched its next generation Swaraj 8200 Smart Harvester for the Indian farmer. Introduced in the kharif season, the harvester delivered excellent results in harvesting crops like paddy and soya bean. With the successful debut of this harvester, the company is looking forward to a healthy demand for this product in the upcoming rabi season.

The Swaraj 8200 Smart Harvester is a result of many years of technology development at Swaraj’s R&D facility in Mohali, supported by Mahindra & Mahindra’s Harvester R&D facility in Finland, Europe. The company has built a dedicated harvester plant in Pithampur in anticipation of strong growth of its harvester products. The plant includes state-of-the-art machinery for manufacturing parts, a modern paint shop, dedicated assembly lines and test facilities.

Swaraj Tractors, a rapidly growing tractor brand in the country and a part of the Mahindra Group, launched a Compact Light Weight tractor range called the ‘Swaraj Target’. The new range from Swaraj is expected to set a new benchmark in the Compact Light Weight tractor category, for unmatched performance, first-in-class features, and state-of-the-art technology.

The name “Swaraj Target” reflects the purposeful design of the new tractor range, aimed at fulfilling the unique needs of Indian farmers and assisting them in achieving their farm productivity targets by adopting specialized mechanization solutions.

Developed specifically for progressive and aspirational farmers who are eager to embrace latest agricultural practices and technology, the new range seamlessly combines power and advanced technology features, providing exceptional efficiency in spraying, interculture operations, and various other applications.

We are off to a good start to the year with promising Rabi crop outlook as sowing acreage for key crops of wheat, pulses and oil seeds has already surpassed previous year levels, supported by conducive soil and weather conditions. This bodes well for the coming months, as the farmers start harvesting this bumper crop. In addition, continued government focus and higher investment in this sector will aid positive sentiments and boost tractor demands. In the exports market, we have sold 1300 tractors.”

This is on the back of 51 per cent growth achieved in the month of April ’22. With the timely arrival of the south-west monsoon and forecast of a normal monsoon, kharif crop is expected to deliver record production. Food prices continue to be high, ensuring better remuneration for farmers for their produce, creating a positive sentiment and higher demand for tractors and agri implements. In the exports market, we have sold 1569 tractors, a growth of 17 per cent over last year.”
