The AGRIBOT A6 comes in three versions: Bike, Backpack, and 4-wheeler models, all available nationwide

IoTechWorld Avigation Pvt Ltd, a leading manufacturer of Krishi-drones, announced that its AGRIBOT A6 Krishi-drone has received a ‘Type Certificate’ from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). This certificate is an official document that certifies that the AGRIBOT A6 meets all technical parameters and safety standards required for operation in India.

IoTechWorld Avigation is a major player in the Krishi-drone market in India, and the newly launched AGRIBOT A6 drone is 30 per cent more compact than the previous model, making it more stable and reliable. Despite its advanced design, the price has not been increased, as the company aims to increase the adoption of drones in India and provide complete handholding to users.

The AGRIBOT A6 comes in three versions: Bike, Backpack, and 4-wheeler models, all of which are available nationwide through the company’s wide network of dealers.

IoTechWorld Avigation is credited with pioneering the ‘Bike model’ which is easily transported on a motorcycle to fields. The company has established a partnership with agrochemical company Syngenta and has undertaken more than 25,000 km of drone yatra in various parts of the country.

The company aims to sell more than 3,000 drones in the current financial year and is exploring opportunities for export in regions like SAARC, South East Asia, Latin America, and Africa. The Type Certificate received for the AGRIBOT A6 is a testimony to the company’s continuous endeavour to develop high-quality and innovative products, according to Anoop Upadhyay, a Co-Founder and Director of the company.

Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) plans to procure 2,500 drones for spraying its products, nano urea and nano DAP (Diammonium Phosphate).

IoTechWorld Avigation Pvt Ltd announced that it has emerged as a leader in the IFFCO drone project and secured a large contract from major cooperative IFFCO to supply 500 drones, which will be primarily used to spray nano liquid urea and DAP.

Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) plans to procure 2,500 drones for spraying its products, nano urea and nano DAP (Diammonium Phosphate). IFFCO also plans to create 5,000 rural entrepreneurs, who would be trained for spraying via drones.

Gurugram-headquartered IoTechWorld, the manufacturer of India’s first DGCA-type certified drone ‘AGRIBOT’, has been Co-Founded by Deepak Bhardwaj and Anoop Upadhyay. IoTechWorld Avigation is also backed by leading agritech company Dhanuka Agritech Ltd.

“We are indeed privileged to receive the single biggest order for the purchase of Krishi-drones from IFFCO. The company will deliver 500 drones to IFFCO by December 2023,” said Upadhyay.

He further said that since IoTechWorld’s inception, the endeavour has been to promote technological innovation in the field of agriculture, and the company is the pioneer of Krishi-drones in the country.

Elaborating on the large supply order from IFFCO, Co-founder Bhardwaj said the drone market is rapidly growing, and there has been tremendous demand from various companies, including fertiliser and pesticides companies as well as from rural entrepreneurs, including farmers.

“Our AGRIBOT (Krishi drone) has been specially designed and programmed for fertilisers. The order from IFFCO is a testament to our strength in the agri-drone segment. We aim to help farmers and Agri Entrepreneurs in the Implementation of made-in-India Nano Urea and Nano DAP newly launched by IFFCO,” he said.

Besides IFFCO, IoTechWorld Avigation has partnered with agrochemical company Syngenta and has undertaken 17,000 KM of drone yatra in various parts of the country.

“We are expecting 5-6 times more demand in the current fiscal compared to last year, with a target of selling more than 3,000 drones in this fiscal year. We are also exploring opportunities for exports. The Government’s recent decision to liberalise the export policy for drones opens up a gamut of opportunity, and there is a huge demand in overseas markets,” Upadhyay added.

The company is also in discussion for exporting drones in regions like SAARC, South East Asia, Latin America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Oman, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Philippines, Nepal, and Africa, which are the focus countries of IoTech export sales.

The company is also extensively focusing on creating awareness about the benefits of using drones in agriculture. IoTech has also set up several small pilot training organisations where people are trained to fly drones.

Syngenta and IoTech will endevour to deploy 2000 drones to train and develop rural youth for using drone technology.

In a significant move, driven by the vision of India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi of large-scale use of drones in agriculture, Syngenta India Pvt Ltd (SIPL) has partnered with IoTechWorld Avigation for facilitating introduction of drone spraying across India. Under this agreement, the two companies will work on creating employment opportunities for rural youth by training and preparing them for using drone technology.     

Syngenta will be working closely with IoTech to promote the drone Spray technology in all educational and promotional campaigns, wherever required, as well as endeavor support in the deployment of minimum 2000 drones under the micro and village-level agri-entrepreneur program and train and develop rural youth. Syngenta and IoTech will work together to encourage 200 agri-entrepreneurs and village-level entrepreneurs developed by Syngenta Foundation India to partner in this program. 

Both parties agree to work together to harness their strengths to promote spray of Syngenta approved chemicals using drone technology of IoTechWorld, in different territories of India. “In the first phase, 200 rural youth will be trained and employed for spraying. Large-scale trials over 400 acres were conducted and data submitted to regulators for 20 crops”, informed Susheel Kumar, MD & Country Head Syngenta India. IoTech’s drone Agribot is being used across all of Syngenta’s spray services and products.

“We are revolutionizing the way spraying is done in India and helping rapid and advanced mechanization of Indian agriculture. Along with Syngenta, we want to help farmers in getting best utilization and results of plant protection chemicals, save cost, and get better output. We also want to contribute to generating employment in rural areas by developing agri-entrepreneurs,” said Deepak Bhardwaj, Director, IoTechWorld Avigation.

“Complementing the joint efforts of Syngenta India Pvt Ltd and IoTech, Syngenta Foundation India is engaged in identifying suitable Agri Entrepreneurs (AEs) and facilitating drone pilot training to them. This will help in providing additional income generating opportunity to our AEs. The Foundation will play a catalyst role in overall program and would continue to support this endeavour in future,” said Rajendra Jog, Country Director, Syngenta Foundation India.

Leading agri-drone manufacturer IoTechWorld Avigation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth (Agriculture University), Rahuri, Maharashtra to promote the use of drone to boost farm productivity in the country.

The MoU was signed by Dr P N Rasal, Dean(F/A) & Director of Instructions, on behalf of the university, while Anoop Kumar Upadhyay, Co-Founder & Director signed on the behalf of IoTechWorld Avigation.

IoTechWorld will be the technical partner in setting up of Remote Pilot Training Organization (RPTO) for Agricultural Drones with MPKV, which in turn will help reduce drone pilot shortage in the country.Under this partnership, IoTechWorld Avigation and MPKV aim to work collectively in science and technology and promote the use of drones in agriculture.

Anoop Kumar Upadhyay said his company and the university will also work on joint educational and Research and Development projects to build a modern and sustainable smart agricultural system.

Leading agricultural drone manufacturer IoTechWorld Avigation Private Limited has revealed that it is aiming a multi-fold growth in both values and volume terms in the current fiscal. The Gurugram-headquartered company is targeting to sell more than 1,000 kisan drones during 2022-23 and is eyeing to capture a good share in the market, estimated to be Rs 5000 crore by 2025-26. 

To fund its growth, India’s first type certified drone manufacturer is in advanced talks with investors to raise funds, which will be utilised for expansion. Last year, the company raised around Rs 30 crore from leading agrochemical company Dhanuka Agritech. The company has also been selected for the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Drone & Drone components by the government of India.

According to Deepak Bhardwaj and Anoop Upadhyay, Co-founders, IoTechWorld Avigation, the company is working to make all components indigenous within one to two years and is also developing village level entrepreneurs and service partners to increase employment.  “Clearly, the growth opportunity is humungous and IoTechWorld Avigation is likely to gain major share of the kisan drone market,” the founders added.

So far, the company has conducted many campaigns and drone yatra of 15000 km across India for educating farmers on the benefits of using drones in agriculture. It has centres in 12 states and will open a Remote Pilot Training Organisation (RPTO) with different state governments to offer low-cost pilot license course.

“IoTechWorld Avigation has launched a bike back drone model and new Lithium Ion batteries to reduce the cost of operating and increase the mobility of drones. ICAR, KVKs, state agri universities have procured drones from us and now we are enabling them so that they can give demonstration and can educate the local farmers,” said Bhardwaj and Upadhyay.

“Our company is working with almost all major plant protection chemical manufacturing companies and working to increase the bio-efficacy of all plant protection chemicals. We are also empanelled with various state governments like Madhya Pradesh,” they added.

As per a recent report by FICCI–EY, the drone market is likely to become $30 billion by 2030 and agriculture drone market is estimated to contribute around 30 per cent of the overall market share.
