Under the terms of the agreement, Marut Drones will be employing state-of-the-art drone technology to administer a range of agricultural inputs developed by IFFCO Agri-products.

In a significant move towards revolutionizing agricultural practices in India, the Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) has entered a strategic partnership with Marut Drones to undertake drone spray operations across an extensive area spanning up to 5 lakh acres. This collaboration marks a pivotal step towards enhancing agricultural productivity and efficiency in the states of Andhra Pradesh (AP) and Telangana.

Under the terms of the agreement, Marut Drones will be employing state-of-the-art drone technology to administer a range of agricultural inputs developed by IFFCO Agri-products. This initiative aims to optimize crop yields while minimizing environmental impact, ultimately contributing to sustainable agricultural practices.

One of the key highlights of this tie-up is the creation of demand for rural entrepreneurs who have already invested in drone technology. By providing drones as a service (DAAS) for farmers, this collaboration empowers local communities and fosters self-employment opportunities. Additionally, individuals keen on acquiring agricultural drones can avail themselves of government subsidies, facilitating their participation in the initiative and enabling them to offer drone services to farmers on a pay-per-acre basis.

DAAS enables farmers to access drone technology through rural drone entrepreneurs at a per-acre cost, ensuring affordability and accessibility even for small-scale farmers. Furthermore, drone owners and service providers can enroll with Marut to receive incentives for spraying IFFCO products on every acre.

Commenting on the partnership, Co-founder and CEO of Marut Drones Prem Kumar emphasized the transformative role of technology in modern agriculture stating, “This collaboration signifies a paradigm shift in farming practices, allowing farmers to minimize direct contact with pesticides, thereby safeguarding their health. Furthermore, the utilization of drones addresses labor shortages by completing tasks in a fraction of the time it would take manually, significantly enhancing operational efficiency.”

The IFFCO & Marut Drones tie-up underscores a shared commitment to innovation and sustainability in agriculture, paving the way for a more prosperous and resilient farming ecosystem. By harnessing the power of drone technology, this collaboration seeks to empower farmers, drive economic growth, and ensure food security for future generations.

IFFCO has commissioned three urea plants in a single year

Amit Shah, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation launched IFFCO Nano DAP (Liquid) in New Delhi. Several dignitaries including the Secretary of, the Ministry of Cooperation, Gyanesh Kumar, and the Chairman, of IFFCO, Dilip Sanghani were present on the occasion.

In his address, Amit Shah said that the launch of the IFFCO Nano DAP (Liquid) product is an important beginning to making India self-reliant in the field of fertilisers. He said that this effort of IFFCO is an inspiration for all the national cooperatives to research and venture into new areas. The launch of the IFFCO Nano DAP (Liquid) product will bring a paradigm shift in the agriculture sector of India, it will make farmers prosperous and India self-reliant in the field of production and fertiliser. Shah said that the use of liquid DAP, through spraying on the plant, will help increase both the quality and quantity of production as well as the conservation of the land. This will contribute a lot to restoring the fertility of the land and will reduce the threat to the health of crores of Indians caused by chemical fertilisers.

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Minister Amit Shah appealed to farmers to use more effective liquid Nano Urea and DAP instead of granular urea and DAP. He said that the use of granular urea damages the land as well as the crop and the health of the people. He said that farmers have the maximum capacity to accept any new changes.  The effect of one bottle of 500 ml on the crop is equivalent to that of a 45 kg bag of granular urea.

Amit Shah said that 384 lakh metric tonnes of fertiliser are produced in the country, out of which cooperative societies produced 132 lakh metric tonnes. Out of this 132 Lakh metric tonnes of fertiliser, IFFCO has produced 90 Lakh metric tonnes. He said that cooperative societies like IFFCO and KRIBHCO have a huge contribution to India’s self-reliance in the fields of fertiliser, milk production and marketing. Shah said that instead of mass production, the main mantra of cooperation is mass production by the masses. It was believed that this mantra could not be successful after the decade of 1970-80, but, many cooperative societies like IFFCO and KRIBHCO have followed this mantra. Along with their professionalism in every field of cooperation, research, capacity and capability, they have kept the spirit of co-operative alive and have implemented it on the ground. He said that the biggest example and success story of a cooperative is that if today IFFCO earns Rupee 1, after the deduction of income tax, 80 paise goes directly to the farmers.

In this series, the cooperative society IFFCO has commissioned three urea plants in a single year.

Government’s Expert Committee has given approval to Nano DAP, and it will also come to replace DAP shortly.

Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilisers, Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurated the IFFCO Nano Urea Liquid Plants at Aonla and Phulpur in Uttar Pradesh.

Addressing the event, Mandaviya stated that it is an important day because Nano urea plants have been dedicated to the nation. He said that Nano Urea, in the coming times will ensure the progress of the farmers, increase their income. In this way it will change the future of our farmer.

Union Minister highlighted the benefits of Nano urea stating that it is the best green technology and provides solution of pollution. It saves the soil and also increases the production and hence is the best for the farmers. He further said that Government’s Expert Committee has given approval to Nano DAP, and it will also come to replace DAP shortly. He added that Nano-DAP will immensely benefit our farmers and it will be available at half the cost of DAP.

Mandaviya also underlined the efforts of the government in making Nano urea available to the farmers. He also pointed out the challenges in bringing Nano urea ranging from getting approvals from various departments, convincing the farmers to tackling conventional urea lobby.

Mandaviya also said that it is an alternate fertiliser. We for the years, used urea and DAP to increase the productivity. When we use urea, only 35 percent Nitrogen (Urea) gets used by the crop and the unused affects soil. Today, the productivity of the soil is declining and crop production is saturated, it was essential to go to alternate fertilisers.

Union Minister congratulated IFFCO for its endeavours. He said that Commerce, business and profit are not foremost for Sahakarita but farmers’ welfare is.

Dileep Sanghani, Chairman IFFCO, Balvir Singh, Vice Chairman IFFCO, Uday Shankar Awasthi MD and CEO of IFFCO, Keshari Devi MP Phulpur were among those present during the inauguration events.
