Punjab Agri-Business Incubator (PABI), an initiative under Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), celebrated the remarkable success of its startup Repeat Gud, founded by 23-year-old entrepreneur Isha Jhawar. The startup secured a Rs 50 lakh investment from renowned investor Anupam Mittal on Season 4 of Shark Tank India, marking a significant milestone for PABI’s role in fostering agribusiness innovation
Repeat Gud impressed the Shark Tank panel with its range of sugar-free, preservative-free condiments, including jaggery-based sauces and cashew mayonnaise, to promote healthier food choices. Isha pitched for Rs 50 lakh in exchange for 5 per cent equity, valuing her company at Rs 10 crore. Recognising the brand’s strong market potential, Anupam Mittal offered Rs 50 lakhs for 10 per cent equity, with an additional ₹50 lakhs investment tied to the startup achieving a revenue milestone of Rs 8 lahks per month by March-April 2025. Isha accepted the deal, securing financial backing and invaluable mentorship to scale her venture.
During the pitch, the Shark Tank panel provided valuable feedback on packaging, regulatory compliance, and marketing strategies. Viraj Bahl highlighted the need for FSSAI certification and the correct labelling of jaggery-based products. While some investors, including Aman Gupta, Namita Thapar, and Kunal Bahl, opted out due to early-stage risks, Mittal’s investment affirmed the potential of Repeat Gud in the health-conscious food market.
Dr SS Gosal, Vice-Chancellor of PAU, stated, “This accomplishment showcases the power of agripreneurship and underscores the importance of platforms like PABI in nurturing young innovators. We are immensely proud of Isha’s dedication and vision.”
Dr MS Bhullar, Director of Extension Education, emphasised the impact of PABI’s incubation program, noting, “Repeat Gud’s success highlights how our support helps transform agricultural ideas into successful businesses, motivating more young entrepreneurs to pursue sustainable and health-driven innovations.”
Dr TS Riar, Principal Investigator at PABI, also congratulated Isha, saying, “This success reflects the collaborative effort of our team at PABI. We remain committed to empowering startups like Repeat Gud by providing guidance, mentorship, and market access opportunities.”
Dr Poonam Sachdev, Co-Principal Investigator at PABI, added, “Seeing our incubatees shine on a national platform like Shark Tank India is truly inspiring. Isha’s journey is a testament to the potential of agribusiness startups in India.”
The success of Isha Jhawar’s startup on a national stage is a personal triumph and a significant milestone for PABI, reinforcing its commitment to incubating high-impact agribusiness ventures.
