ICAR-NRCP’s book ‘A-Z of Pig Farming’ wins the ‘Best Book Award’ by MANAGE

The book provides the most recent information on biosecurity measures to be followed in a pig farm, emerging pig diseases and their control measures, pork processing and value addition.

An extension-oriented book on “A-Z of Pig Farming” authored by Scientists of ICAR-National Research Centre on Pig was awarded the “First Prize’ in the ‘Best Book in Agricultural Extension’ category by National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad.

The book was designed to benefit those stakeholders who are interested in adopting scientific pig rearing practices and pork processing in an enterprising manner. The book provides the most recent information on scientific pig production practices, biosecurity measures to be followed in a pig farm, emerging pig diseases and their control measures, pork processing and value addition and details of e-Resources for pig farming, among others.

 The award was presented to Dr. Vivek Kumar Gupta, Director, ICAR-NRC on Pig on today by Sri Samuel Praveen Kumar, Joint Secretary (Extension), MoA & FW, GOI, New Delhi in presence of Dr. P. Chandra Shekara, Director General, MANAGE and Dr N. Balasubramani, Director, MANAGE.
