It is expected that the cap removal will help the farmers, mills and jute MSME sector

Government of India after careful examination of the market dynamics of raw jute trade has lifted price cap of Rs 6500 per quintal for TD5 grade of raw jute fixed w.e.f. September 30, 2021 on purchase of raw jute by the jute mills and other end users.

Jute Commissioner Office has been collecting the information about the raw jute prices through formal and informal sources and found that the present prices are ruling near the capped price. As the existing prices of raw jute are ruling around Rs 6500 Government of India has taken a dynamic decision to lift the price capping w.e.f. May 20, 2022.

It is expected that the cap removal will help the farmers, mills and jute MSME sector wherein over seven lakhs people are dependent on the jute trade in addition to about 40 lakhs jute farmers. The decreasing trend in prices will also benefit jute goods exports which constitute about 30 per cent of the industry’s turnover in value terms.

The focus of this year’s event is ‘Transforming Agriculture through Technology Innovations’

The 12th AGROVISION, India’s Premier Agri Summit, to be held in Reshimbagh Ground, Nagpur from December 24-27, 2021. The inauguration will take place on December 24. This year the focus will be on ‘Transforming Agriculture through Technology Innovations.’ The conference will also look into the MSME sector.

A conference will be held on the dairy sector on December 25.  A livestock expo will be organised during the event. The section will showcase various breeds of cattle, poultry, goats and sheep. Experts will discuss the breeds and the latest developments in the dairy sector.

This will be followed by a conference on December 26 on inland fisheries in and around Vidarbha. The final day of the event will see a round table discussion on Enhancing Agriculture GDP – Role of MSME.

Farmers from in and around Vidarbha and adjoining states will be participating in the event. Apart from this, there will be free interactive workshops for farmers. Conferences on current issues in agriculture and allied agri sectors will be held. Around 400 exhibitors are likely to participate in the event.
