Dhanuka Agritech, one of the leading agri-input companies in India, announced that it has signed a ‘Letter of Intent’ with Spain-based Kimitec to explore various business opportunities, including setting up a joint venture in India for the development and commercialisation of biological products using natural molecules & derived from natural sources. 

 The two companies will also explore setting up a Research & Development facility in the country.  

Biological products are derived from natural sources using botany, microbiology, microalgae, and bioinformatics. These represent a sustainable category of products providing crop protection, soil health, and plant nutrition. These products can be used individually or in combination with conventional chemical products as per the requirements. 

 “As part of our continuous effort to offer the best products and solutions to the Indian farming community, we have signed a non-binding Letter of Intent with Spain’s Kimitec to explore various business opportunities, including setting up a joint venture in India and an R&D facility, as well as the commercialization of biological products. The demand for biological products is increasing globally, and we see an uptrend for these products in India too.” said Rahul Dhanuka, Joint Managing Director, Dhanuka Agritech. 

Kimitec, is a cutting-edge biotech company & founder of MAAVi Innovation Center, the largest European biotech innovation hub dedicated to natural molecules. Kimitec has implemented a revolutionary AI platform at MAAVi Innovation Center. Known by the name of LINNA this AI platform is already providing Kimitec with around 35 per cent of candidate compounds for product development.

Dhanuka Group already has tie-ups with seven leading agrochemical companies from the US, Japan, and Europe, to introduce the latest technology and products in India.

Australia-based Good Earth Dairy secures a $4.4 million grant for a $20 million dairy processing facility.

The first camel milk dairy in Australia will open ahead of Good Earth Dairy’s listing on the ASX next year. The facility will produce fresh and powdered camel milk products.

Good Earth Dairy is set to expand its distribution channels beyond Western Australia (WA) and into global markets with the help of a new facility. The $20 million facility, expected to be completed by 2026, will have the capacity to process around 22 million litres of camel milk annually.

Good Earth Dairy launched a bridging round via an equity crowdfunding campaign on the OnMarket platform last week ahead of its planned IPO next year to support international expansion.

The company will use crowdfunding to increase production capacity and fund the construction of a new dairy.

Camel milk retails at a premium in Australia, selling for between $13 and $20 per litre, compared to cow’s milk.

The milk is low in allergens and saturated fat, and highly nutritious. It is also easy to digest for infants and adults.

Dr Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) inaugurated the Technology Demonstration Facility at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Khordha, Odisha on March 10, 2022. Ajaya Kumar Dash, Head, KVK, Khordha briefed about the new facility. The facility will have demonstration units for mushroom production, food processing & value-addition and poultry production. It will also be used for imparting the skill training to the farmers and farm women.

The DG was accompanied by Dr Joykrushna Jena, Deputy Director General (Fisheries Science); Dr BP Mohanty, ADG (Inland Fisheries), ICAR along with Dr SK Swain, Director, ICAR-CIFA, Bhubaneswar and other Senior Officials of ICAR-CIFA and KVK, Khordha.

While interacting with the farmers and farm women in the Exhibition organised at the KVK, Khordha, Dr Mohapatra urged the KVK for facilitating the Self-Help Groups to improve their marketing skills and organise them to form as collectives like Farmers’ Producers’ Organisations to scale-up their operations. Underlining the Government of India’s target of creating 10,000 FPOs by 2025, the Director General emphasised that the KVKs would play a key role in mobilising the farmers and providing technical support.

During his interaction with the Scientists and Staff Members of ICAR-CIFA, he urged for focusing on the outreach & effective communication of the scientific research to the stakeholders and reorienting the research priorities for bringing out innovations that can enhance the farmers’ income.
