Through these awareness vans, farmers will be educated on identifying counterfeit agricultural products and protecting themselves from fraud.
As part of a special awareness campaign launched by Dhanuka Agritech Limited to educate farmers about counterfeit agricultural products and encourage the use of quality agricultural inputs, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development, today flagged off five Farmer Awareness Audio Vans.
The initiative was launched during a farmer-centric programme held in Vidisha, where Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan laid the foundation stone of a Model Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) and inaugurated several farmer welfare initiatives. Inspired by the spirit of the Government’s ‘Khet Bachao Abhiyan’, Dhanuka Agritech Limited’s campaign aims to create awareness among farmers about the adverse impact of counterfeit agricultural products and promote the use of certified and quality agricultural inputs.
The five audio vans will travel across key agricultural districts of Madhya Pradesh over the next one month, disseminating awareness messages and reaching thousands of farmers.
Through these awareness vans, farmers will be educated on identifying counterfeit agricultural products and protecting themselves from fraud. The campaign will also emphasise the balanced and judicious use of crop protection products. Farmers will be encouraged to verify product authenticity by scanning QR codes available on product packaging, purchase agricultural inputs only from authorised dealers, and always insist on proper bills and invoices.
On the occasion, Dr. R. G. Agarwal, Chairman Emeritus, Dhanuka Agritech Limited, said, “India is among the world’s leading agricultural producers, yet we continue to lag behind countries such as China in terms of per-hectare productivity. One of the key reasons for this gap is the limited access of farmers to quality agricultural inputs and modern farming technologies. Counterfeit agricultural products further aggravate this challenge. Such products not only affect crop health and productivity but also adversely impact farmers’ incomes. In many cases, farmers unknowingly purchase fake products and suffer significant financial losses. Dhanuka Agritech Limited’s awareness campaign is inspired by the spirit of the Government’s ‘Khet Bachao Abhiyan’. Our objective is to equip farmers with the right information, protect them from counterfeit products, promote the use of quality agricultural inputs, and contribute to improved agricultural productivity. We are confident that this initiative will greatly benefit the farmers of Madhya Pradesh.”
He further stated that awareness is essential for safeguarding farmers’ interests, enhancing transparency in the agricultural sector, and promoting the use of quality agricultural inputs. The challenge of counterfeit agricultural products can be effectively addressed only through the collective efforts of the government, the agricultural industry, and farmers.
This special initiative by Dhanuka Agritech Limited marks an important step towards fostering trust, transparency, and sustainable agricultural development by empowering farmers with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions.
