Koppert Sustainable Solutions (India) Pvt. Ltd., a joint venture between AgriLife India and Koppert BV (Netherlands), is set to inaugurate an expanded Mycorrhiza Production Facility at IDA Bollaram, Hyderabad, strengthening its commitment to sustainable and regenerative farming in India.
The expanded facility will scale up the production of mycorrhizal fungi, a naturally occurring soil microorganism that enhances nutrient and water uptake by crops, improves soil health, and supports higher, more resilient yields. The investment reflects growing demand for biological crop inputs as Indian agriculture transitions toward environmentally responsible production systems.
Mycorrhiza plays a critical role in improving soil structure and plant-root interactions, enabling crops to access nutrients more efficiently while reducing dependence on synthetic fertilizers. Large-scale production of these biologicals is increasingly seen as essential to improving farm productivity amid climate stress and declining soil fertility.
“Koppert’s expanded facility underscores the shift toward biology-led agriculture,” the company said in a statement. “By strengthening local manufacturing, we are enabling wider adoption of sustainable inputs that help farmers produce more with fewer environmental impacts.”
The Hyderabad facility will serve as a key manufacturing and distribution hub, supporting farmers across multiple crop segments. The expansion also aligns with India’s broader push toward natural farming, soil regeneration, and reduced chemical dependency.
With this investment, Koppert reinforces its long-term strategy to scale biological solutions across emerging markets, positioning India as a critical growth center in the global sustainable agriculture ecosystem.
