Farmer’s Sabhagar opens at ICAR-DWR, Jabalpur

The newly-created facility would help in training and demonstration of the new weed management technologies

A Farmer’s Sabhagar was recently inaugurated at the Directorate’s Farm area in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. Dr Panjab Singh, Former Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR), said, “The newly-created facility would help in training and demonstration of the new weed management technologies developed by the ICAR-Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh to the farmers and other stakeholders.”

Singh also visited the field experiments and laboratory facilities at the Directorate.

While interacting with the scientists and other staff members, Dr Singh appreciated the directorate’s achievements made on the various aspects of weed management. The unparalleled growth in agricultural production, despite the COVID-19, that not only made the country self-sufficient in food grain but also enabled it to provide free ration to the rural poor was highlighted by Dr Singh.
