Farm mechanisation momentum drives CNH India to 8-lakh milestone

Greater Noida plant strengthens India’s position as a global manufacturing and export hub for advanced agricultural machinery

CNH India has crossed a landmark manufacturing milestone with the rollout of its 8,00,000th tractor from the company’s Greater Noida facility, underlining the growing strategic importance of India within the global agricultural machinery ecosystem. The achievement reflects not only the accelerating mechanisation of Indian agriculture, but also CNH India’s emergence as a major export-oriented production hub for technologically advanced farm equipment.

Operational since 1999, the Greater Noida facility manufactures tractors under the New Holland and Case IH brands and has steadily expanded its production footprint in response to rising domestic demand and growing international market opportunities. The company noted that the latest 1,00,000 tractors were produced in record time, highlighting stronger operational efficiencies and sustained market traction across both Indian and overseas geographies.

Spread across nearly 60 acres, the manufacturing complex currently produces more than 3,000 tractor variants catering to diverse agricultural requirements across global markets. Annual production capacity at the facility has also been scaled up from 60,000 units to 70,000 units as the company deepens its focus on high-performance mechanisation solutions for modern farming systems.

Ravi Kundra, Director – Manufacturing Agriculture at CNH India, described the milestone as a reflection of the company’s manufacturing agility and the increasing trust placed in its products by farmers worldwide. He noted that the Greater Noida plant continues to function as a critical pillar within CNH’s global manufacturing network, delivering technology-driven solutions for both local and export markets.

The facility employs over 4,000 people and exports tractors to more than 90 countries, reinforcing India’s growing role in global agricultural equipment manufacturing. Industry observers note that the expansion aligns with broader shifts toward precision farming, mechanisation-led productivity gains, and the increasing adoption of smart farming technologies across emerging agricultural economies.

Alongside production growth, CNH India has also intensified its focus on sustainability-led manufacturing practices. The company has integrated initiatives around solar energy usage, water conservation, afforestation and energy-efficient production systems within its manufacturing operations as part of its long-term industrial sustainability roadmap.

The company is additionally positioning India as a global centre for compact tractor engineering and manufacturing, with plans for further expansion under its “Made in India” strategy. Analysts believe this could significantly strengthen India’s competitiveness within the global farm machinery supply chain as demand rises for efficient, technologically advanced and export-ready agricultural equipment.

The 8,00,000-unit milestone comes at a time when India’s agricultural sector is undergoing rapid structural transformation, driven by mechanisation, digital agriculture, labour optimisation and rising demand for productivity-enhancing technologies. Against this backdrop, CNH India’s continued manufacturing expansion reflects the increasing convergence of industrial capability, rural modernisation and global agricultural trade dynamics.
