REnergy Dynamics forms strategic alliance with GMM Pfaudler to manufacture paddle agitators for India’s CBG sector

REnergy Dynamics (RED), a leading player in India’s bioenergy sector, has entered into a strategic alliance with global technology leader GMM Pfaudler to manufacture paddle agitators domestically under the Government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative. The collaboration positions RED-GMM among the first companies in India to locally produce this critical equipment for Compressed Biogas (CBG) plants, enabling faster deployment and cost-effective operations across the sector.

Commercial production has already commenced at a state-of-the-art facility in Gujarat, with agitators operational at marquee projects including Reliance Industries’ CBG plant, executed by RED. With nearly 1,000 CBG plants expected to come online over the next three years, the domestic market for paddle agitators is projected to reach Rs. 7,500 crore, underscoring the scale of opportunity.

The alliance combines RED’s deep understanding of the Indian CBG landscape with GMM Pfaudler’s global expertise in mixing technologies. Paddle agitators are crucial for optimizing feedstock handling, including molasses, jaggery, and organic residues, ensuring efficient biogas production while maintaining process reliability.

RED Chairman & Managing Director, Kushagra Nandan, said, “This partnership marks RED’s entry into the manufacturing and marketing of paddle agitators for India’s CBG sector. GMM Pfaudler’s global footprint and technology capabilities make them an ideal partner.”

RED CEO Varun Karad emphasized the strategic significance for India’s energy self-reliance: “Locally manufacturing paddle agitators reduces import dependence and ensures developers access world-class technology at competitive costs. As India’s CBG market expands, the demand for these agitators will grow substantially.”

GMM Pfaudler CEO Aseem Joshi added, “Combining RED’s vision with our mixing technology expertise creates a scalable and reliable foundation for India’s CBG industry.”

The collaboration also draws on GMM Pfaudler’s experience in large-scale projects such as the Assam Bio Refinery’s bamboo-based 2G ethanol facility, demonstrating the adaptability of their agitators to Indian feedstock and process requirements.

With this strategic alliance, RED reaffirms its commitment to enabling India’s CBG sector with locally manufactured, high-quality, and cost-efficient technology, driving growth, self-reliance, and sustainability across the bioenergy value chain.
