This partnership is expected to benefit not just India and Morocco but also broader regions across Africa and Asia
In a significant step toward enhancing sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the African Plant Nutrition Institute (APNI), Morocco, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in New Delhi. The agreement aims to promote collaboration in soil health, precision plant nutrient management, and resilient farming systems.
The MoU was formally signed by Dr M. L. Jat, Secretary (DARE) & Director General, ICAR, and Dr Kaushik Majumdar, Director General, APNI, in the presence of senior ICAR officials and representatives from both organisations.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Jat emphasised the importance of the partnership in fostering joint initiatives and research collaborations that will drive science-based solutions for nutrient and soil management. “This MoU marks a critical step in our mission to advance sustainable farming practices and build resilient agricultural systems capable of withstanding the challenges of climate change,” he said.
The agreement will facilitate knowledge exchange, promote capacity building, and encourage innovation in agricultural practices through collaborative research and development efforts. This partnership is expected to benefit not just India and Morocco but also broader regions across Africa and Asia by addressing shared challenges in soil degradation, nutrient efficiency, and sustainable crop production
