Spanning 14,000 sq ft and backed by an investment of Rs 50 lakhs, the Chennai facility will anchor supply-chain operations for Tamil Nadu, covering all 38 districts through a dealer network of 34 partners.
Balwaan Krishi, one of India’s emerging agritech and farm equipment companies, has launched a new logistics and distribution hub in Chennai and Vishakhapattanam a strategic move to accelerate its South India expansion and bring farm mechanisation closer to millions of small and marginal farmers across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Kerala.
Spanning 14,000 sq ft and backed by an investment of Rs 50 lakhs, the Chennai facility will anchor supply-chain operations for Tamil Nadu, covering all 38 districts through a dealer network of 34 partners. Simultaneously, it will serve as the primary distribution gateway into Andhra Pradesh, supporting 59 dealer partners from Visakhapatnam in the north to key agri-belts in the south. Each operational cluster is projected to generate 5–8 direct and indirect jobs across warehousing, logistics and field support.
In Tamil Nadu, the facility unlocks significant demand for Power Weeders, Brush Cutters, Sprayers, Water Pumps and Harvesting Equipment, with growth to be driven through FPOs, cooperatives and agri-input dealer networks across all districts. In Andhra Pradesh, a state defined by diverse cropping systems and a large cultivated area, the focus will be on Power Tillers, Power Weeders, and battery-operated Sprayers and Harvesters, supported by on-ground dealer demonstrations, localised farmer engagement and tie-ups with government programmes.
Commenting on the launch, Co-founder Rohit Bajaj said: “South India is not a single market, it is a mosaic of farming communities, each with distinct crops, climates and mechanisation needs. A farmer growing rice in the Krishna delta of Andhra Pradesh needs different tools and support than a spice grower in Tamil Nadu’s interiors. The Chennai hub is our answer to that diversity. It puts us physically close to where our farmers are, so we can respond faster, serve better, and build the kind of ground-level trust that no catalogue or e-commerce listing can replace. For Balwaan, this is not just logistics, it is the foundation of a long-term South India commitment.”
With Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam identified as priority urban anchors in the Deccan region, Balwaan Krishi will scale dealer development and farmer outreach across both states before extending the model to Karnataka and Kerala, building a responsive supply chain that cuts delivery lead times and strengthens after-sales support in every key agricultural district.
The Chennai hub marks a defining step in Balwaan Krishi’s mission to make quality farm mechanisation accessible to every small and marginal farmer across the country.
