Firms position “fertiliser-plus” solutions as alternatives to conventional inputs amid rising focus on crop resilience and productivity
German agricultural technology company B+H Solutions GmbH is set to invest €1 million in India in 2026, as it deepens its presence in the country’s emerging nano-fertiliser and plant-protection segment, driven by regulatory approvals and increasing market receptivity to advanced crop nutrition technologies.
Operating in India through its subsidiary Dr Heinisch Agro Solutions India Private Limited, the company is positioning itself within a rapidly evolving agricultural inputs landscape where nanotechnology-based formulations are gaining traction as alternatives and complements to conventional fertilisers.
The investment decision follows recent regulatory clearance under India’s Fertiliser Control Order (FCO) framework for nano-based products, a development that has strengthened the company’s India growth strategy. B+H Solutions reported global revenues of €20 million in 2025, with India emerging as a key focus market.
The company currently offers eight agricultural products in India, including AgroBeize, a formulation developed specifically for Indian farming conditions that combines silver and copper nanoparticles and is additionally registered as a disinfectant. Its product portfolio is centred on metal-based nanotechnology designed to enhance plant resilience, reduce disease incidence, and improve overall crop performance.
Unlike conventional nutrient-based fertilisers, the company’s solutions are positioned as multifunctional inputs that integrate crop nutrition and plant protection attributes, a segment it describes as “fertiliser-plus” applications.
Recent regulatory progress has included FCO registration for its nano copper product, AgroCopper, while approvals for additional nano-based formulations, including nano iron, are under review. The company views these developments as critical enablers for scaling its presence in India’s regulated fertiliser market.
Field evaluations conducted in collaboration with agricultural research institutions, including ICAR Bengaluru, have indicated improved yields and disease resistance outcomes in tomato cultivation trials, alongside enhanced produce quality. Across multiple crops such as chillies, black pepper, pomegranates, and floriculture segments, the company reports yield improvements of up to 30 per cent under controlled conditions.
B+H Solutions initially established operations across Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, and Karnataka, and is now expanding its footprint into Rajasthan, supported by a distribution model combining internal sales teams and channel partnerships. The company has also indicated ongoing discussions with large-scale distributors to strengthen market penetration.
In a global context where bio-stimulants and crop enhancers continue to expand, the company maintains that its patented metal-based nanotechnology platforms offer differentiated value propositions, supported by international safety assessments and OECD-aligned studies.
As India’s agricultural input sector increasingly integrates advanced materials science and regulatory frameworks adapt to emerging technologies, the company’s India expansion reflects broader momentum toward high-efficiency, precision-oriented crop solutions.
