Strong rural demand lifts total volumes to 3,483 units, with power tillers up 55% and tractors posting steady double-digit growth
VST Tillers Tractors Limited reported a strong performance in April 2026, reflecting sustained momentum in India’s compact farm machinery segment driven by robust rural demand and continued mechanisation across small and marginal farming communities. The company achieved total sales of 3,483 units, comprising 3,111 power tillers and 372 tractors, marking a significant year-on-year expansion across both product categories.
The power tiller segment remained the primary growth driver, with sales rising sharply to 3,111 units in April 2026 compared with 2,003 units in the same month last year, representing a 55.32 per cent increase. This growth underscores rising adoption of cost-efficient mechanisation solutions among smallholder farmers and the continued importance of power tillers in VST’s rural-focused portfolio.
The tractor business also recorded steady improvement, with sales increasing to 372 units from 317 units in April 2025, reflecting a 17.35 per cent year-on-year growth. The performance highlights gradual strengthening in demand for compact tractors, supported by improving rural sentiment and selective recovery in key agricultural markets.
Overall, VST’s combined sales of power tillers and tractors rose 50.13 per cent year-on-year from 2,320 units in April 2025 to 3,483 units in April 2026, signalling broad-based growth across its product segments. The company attributed the strong performance to favourable rural conditions and sustained mechanisation trends in Indian agriculture.
Looking ahead, VST Tillers Tractors remains focused on expanding its footprint in the compact mechanisation segment through product innovation, deeper rural penetration, and enhanced affordability, while continuing to benefit from the structural growth drivers in India’s agricultural sector.
