Matix Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited has been awarded the ‘Best Production Performance of an Operating Fertilizer Unit for Nitrogen (Ammonia and Urea)’ for 2023–2024 by the Fertiliser Association of India (FAI), recognising the company’s strong operational execution, efficiency, and contribution to India’s fertiliser self-sufficiency.

The award was presented by Anupriya Patel, Minister of State for Chemicals & Fertilisers and Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, to Giridhar Mishra, Chief Operating Officer, Matix Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited, at the annual FAI Awards ceremony held in New Delhi.

The recognition reflects Matix’s performance at its state-of-the-art gas-based fertiliser plant in Panagarh, West Bengal, where the company achieved 118 per cent of rated annual production capacity during the year. The achievement underscores Matix’s role in strengthening domestic urea availability and reducing dependence on imports.

Operational since October 2021, Matix has rapidly emerged as a key player in India’s nitrogen fertiliser landscape, securing nearly 20 per cent market share in eastern India’s urea segment. In 2023, the company was also honoured with the ‘Perseverance in Urea Production’ award for its sustained contribution to national fertiliser security.
