Escorts Kubota Limited (EKL), a leader in agricultural and construction equipment, has launched its third-generation Ride-On Rice Transplanters – KA6 and KA8 – under the Kubota brand. Engineered in Japan, the models combine advanced technology with practical field use and offers higher productivity, better operator comfort, and precise planting. Kubota Corporation, a global manufacturing company based in Osaka, Japan, is the majority shareholder and a joint promoter of Escorts Kubota Limited, an Indian engineering conglomerate.
Pan-India Launch in Key Paddy States
The transplanters have been introduced across 7 states – Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Telangana. These are regions where the demand for mechanized paddy farming is steadily increasing.
Advanced Technology for Reliable Performance
The KA6 and KA8 are powered by fuel-efficient Kubota engines delivering 21 HP and 24 HP respectively, ensuring reliable performance even in tough field conditions. Both models feature a smart turning system, automatic lift function, multifunction control lever, and horizontal control mechanism for smooth operation and uniform planting depth. Redesigned planting claws reduce missed planting, and the improved seedling picking guide ensures higher accuracy, better crop growth, and consistent yields.
Enhanced Comfort and Efficiency for Operators
Operator comfort has also been enhanced with a wider platform, ergonomic layout, LED lights for after-sunset work, lighter planting sections, and a longer wheelbase. These features improve balance, stability, and ease of movement, making the transplanters suitable for extended use in deep, wet fields.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Bharat Madan, CFO & Wholetime Director, said: “Mechanization is a national mission to empower farmers, enhance their dignity, and make agriculture more efficient. The new KA Series rice transplanters transform a labor-intensive process with precision, comfort, and innovation, blending global technology with local insights.”
Mr. Rajan Chugh, Chief Officer, Agri Solutions Business Division, added: “The KA6 and KA8 reflect our commitment to farmer-centric design, addressing real challenges like labor shortages and long working hours. With higher horsepower, smart turning, and ergonomic layouts, these machines make rice transplanting faster, uniform, and more profitable.”
