Godrej Agrovet Limited, one of India’s most diversified agribusinesses, has ushered in a new era of leadership with Sunil Kataria formally taking charge as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director from September 1, 2025, for a five-year term. His appointment, first announced in May, signals the company’s intent to accelerate its next phase of growth and strengthen its positioning as a trusted partner in agriculture and sustainability.
Kataria brings over two decades of leadership experience in marketing, sales, and business transformation, with prior stints at Marico, Raymond, and Godrej Consumer Products. Widely regarded for his ability to scale businesses in challenging markets, he is expected to sharpen Agrovet’s focus on innovation, capability building, and execution strength while unlocking value across its diverse portfolio.
His succession follows the three-decade-long stewardship of Balram Singh Yadav, who helped shape Godrej Agrovet into a formidable agri-business conglomerate with interests spanning animal feed, crop protection, dairy, oil palm, poultry, and consumer-facing ventures. Under Yadav, the company also expanded into contract development and manufacturing operations (CDMO), reinforcing its role at the intersection of agriculture and allied industries.
Kataria now steps in at a moment of transition, with each of Agrovet’s businesses at a different stage of evolution. His mandate is clear: scale high-potential verticals, prioritize profitability, and embed sustainability at the core of strategy. With this leadership change, Godrej Agrovet underscores its commitment to driving meaningful growth, delivering long-term value to stakeholders, and shaping a more resilient future for Indian agriculture.
