Insecticides (India) Limited opens FY26 with strong Q1, driven by premiumization, farmer engagement and new launches

Insecticides (India) Limited (IIL), one of the country’s leading crop protection and nutrition companies, has delivered a strong start to FY26, posting year-on-year gains in revenue, margins, and profitability on the back of a sharply focused premiumization strategy and deeper farmer connect.

Revenue from operations rose 5 per cent to Rs 691 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2025, supported by a robust 20 per cent growth in the premium B2C product portfolio. Gross profit climbed 11 per cent to Rs 202 crore, lifting gross margins to 29.2 per cent from 27.6 per cent a year ago. EBITDA grew 17 per cent to Rs 85 crore, with margins improving by 125 basis points to 12.2 per cent. Profit After Tax jumped 18 per cent to Rs 58 crore, reflecting both topline momentum and operational efficiency.

The growth was underpinned by strong demand for flagship products like Torry Super, Terrox, Green Expert, and Stroke, alongside a positive reception for recent launches. Marketing campaigns and targeted field promotions helped deepen market penetration. The company’s transformation into a complete crop solution provider, anchored by its IIL Crop Solution Plots—model fields showcasing integrated crop solutions—has further strengthened its leadership position across key crops.

The quarter also marked the introduction of three new products, including Altair, a patented pre-emergent herbicide for paddy developed by Nissan Chemical Corporation, Japan, to be marketed exclusively by IIL in India. Another highlight was the launch of SPARCLE in collaboration with Corteva Agriscience, enhancing the company’s innovation credentials. With its Dahej facility now fully operational, IIL is well positioned to meet future growth needs with improved operational management.

Favorable macro conditions, including an early onset of the Southwest monsoon, healthy reservoir levels, stable raw material prices, and signs of global demand recovery, provided a supportive backdrop. While rice and maize sowing gained momentum, some crops faced delays due to uneven rainfall in certain regions.

“We are pleased to report a strong start to this season, with diverse offerings of premium products, three new launches, and effective marketing initiatives,” said Rajesh Kumar Aggarwal, Managing Director, Insecticides (India) Ltd. “Our emphasis on premiumization, margin discipline, and complete crop solutions is delivering encouraging results. With favorable monsoon patterns, expanded sowing, and a robust pipeline, we are confident of sustaining our growth trajectory.”

Looking ahead, IIL anticipates continued premium product momentum, deeper engagement with farmers, and stronger contributions from recent launches. The company remains committed to sustainability, innovation, and delivering long-term value to stakeholders, while strengthening its position as a trusted partner in Indian agriculture.
