With new launches, Escorts Kubota eyes 25 per cent export contribution by fiscal 2026

Escorts Kubota aims to increase its export contribution to 20–25 per cent of total sales by FY26. Despite prevailing market challenges, export volumes recorded a 36 per cent growth in Q4 FY25. The company intends to introduce new tractor models under the Kubota, Powertrac, and Promax brands in FY26

Escorts Kubota Ltd. (EKL) has unveiled its strategic ambition to increase its export share from 4.3 per cent to between 20 and 25 per cent of total tractor sales by the financial year 2025–26 (FY26). This growth is expected to be driven by upcoming product launches and enhanced leverage of the Kubota global distribution network.

Neeraj Mehra, Chief Officer of EKL’s Tractor Business Division, highlighted that despite challenging conditions in key markets such as Europe, the company achieved a 36 per cent growth in export volumes during Q4 FY25 (January–March). Currently, approximately 70 per cent of EKL’s exported units are sold through the Kubota network, underscoring significant potential for expansion.

In FY25, EKL sold a total of 115,554 tractors, reflecting a marginal 1 per cent increase compared to 114,396 units sold in FY24. Domestic sales rose by 1.6 per cent to 110,563 units, while export sales declined by 11.2 per cent to 4,991 units.

To support its international growth objectives, EKL plans to launch several new products in FY26:

Q2 FY26: A 40–45 HP tractor under the Kubota brand

Q3 FY26: Powertrac Paddy series targeting southern markets

Q4 FY26: New models under the Promax range

These launches are designed to refresh EKL’s international product portfolio and better cater to the diverse needs of regional farming communities.

Currently, Escorts Kubota exports tractors to 62 countries, operating under two international brands — Farmtrac and Powertrac — with models ranging from 20 to 120 HP. Additionally, the company markets Farmpower farm implements to address a variety of agricultural requirements.

With manufacturing facilities strategically located across Asia and Europe, EKL maintains a robust global manufacturing and supply infrastructure to support its expansion plans.
