Visits Farmer’s Innovative Agro-Technique plots in Sipora Ambhora Village, Jaffrabad Tehsil, Jalna district, Maharashtra
Dr Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) recently visited the Farmer’s Innovative Agro-Technique Plots in Sipora Ambhora Village, Jaffrabad Tehsil, Jalna district, Maharashtra. Addressing farmers at the innovative plots, the Director-General applauded the potential of ’Dada Lad’ Technique for doubling the average productivity of cotton in the irrigated areas in Maharashtra. He also emphasised the scope for the spread of technique to the similar agro-ecologies in the other states where irrigated cotton is cultivated like Punjab. Dr Mohapatra also urged the cotton researchers to study the agro-techniques practised by the farmers – Rameshwar Ambhore and Kishore Chavan.
Dinesh Kulkarni, Secretary, Akhil Bharatiya Kisan Sangh underlined about ’Dada Lad’ Technique’s adoption by around 700 farmers in Jalna, Jalgaon and Nandurbar Districts. He also stressed the promotion of such technologies by the ICAR and other stakeholders for profitable farming and retaining the rural youth in agriculture.
Dr Suresh Kumar Chaudhari, Deputy Director General (Natural Resource Management & Agricultural Engineering), ICAR along with Senior Officials of ICAR & its Institutes and Vice-Chancellors of State Agricultural Universities were also present during the occasion.
