Mahindra – Engineering strength, empowering communities

Innovation meets rural transformation

Mahindra & Mahindra has long stood as a symbol of India’s industrial resilience and rural empowerment. From pioneering tractors in the 1960s to today’s intelligent farm machinery, the company has consistently blended engineering excellence with social impact. Its latest innovations and achievements underscore Mahindra’s dual mission: to elevate productivity in the fields and to drive inclusive growth across communities.

Reinventing Farm Machinery

Mahindra & Mahindra, India’s leading tractor manufacturer and one of the world’s largest farm machinery makers, has unveiled its new Rotavator series. With a bold new look and a wider mast design, the Mahavator and Mahavator HD models, spanning 4 to 9 feet, are engineered for heavy‑duty performance and enhanced durability.

Developed from farmer insights and market analysis, the new rotavators deliver superior structural integrity, improved stability, and long‑term resilience across India’s uneven terrains. In a symbolic tribute to the farming community, Mahindra has also introduced limited‑edition tricolour rotavators in Metallic Orange, Everest White, and Metallic Green.

Adding a futuristic edge, the Tez‑e Intelligent Rotavator integrates Bluetooth technology, transmitting real‑time field data to mobile apps — blending tradition with precision farming.

Tractor Sales Momentum

Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Business (FEB) reported a robust 35 percent growth in domestic tractor sales in February 2026, with 32,153 units sold compared to 23,880 last year. Exports also rose by 20 percent, with 1,980 tractors shipped overseas. President Veejay Nakra attributed this surge to favourable harvests, healthy reservoir levels, and strong rural cash flows, noting that festive demand during Navratri further boosted sales. These figures reflect Mahindra’s ability to align seamlessly with the rhythms of India’s agricultural economy and its growing global footprint.

Swaraj’s Golden Peacock Recognition

Mahindra’s Swaraj Division has been honoured with the prestigious Golden Peacock Award for its flagship Integrated Village Development initiative. This program has transformed more than 30 villages in Punjab and Haryana, driving measurable socio‑economic impact. Through interventions such as pond renovation, rainwater harvesting structures, improved school infrastructure, and targeted educational support, the initiative has enhanced learning outcomes for over 5,000 students. It has also empowered more than 6,000 women through institutional strengthening and expanded access to government schemes, while skilling 2,000 women and persons with disabilities to improve employability and livelihoods. The award underscores Mahindra’s philosophy of Driving Positive Change, where empowered communities form the foundation of sustainable rural transformation.

Made in India, Rising Globally

From its manufacturing hubs in Punjab, Telangana, and Madhya Pradesh to its presence in more than 50 countries, Mahindra embodies India’s industrial resilience. With over four million tractors sold globally, Mahindra is not just a machinery maker but a movement, positioning India as a leader in indigenous agri‑tech, resilient logistics, and inclusive innovation. Its journey from rolling out the first tractor in 1963 to pioneering intelligent farm machinery today reflects a singular mission: to elevate productivity, empower farmers, and drive prosperity across rural and global landscapes.

Editorial Note: Mahindra’s story is not just about machines; it is about momentum. By blending bold innovation with community empowerment, the company stands as a beacon of India’s rise — engineering strength in the fields and shaping narratives of resilience across the world.
