Deloitte India launches ConnectSafe to strengthen cybersecurity for connected agriculture ecosystems in Bangalore

Deloitte India has unveiled ConnectSafe, a first-of-its-kind cyber-security facility in Bangalore designed to safeguard connected ecosystems, including emerging digital systems in the agriculture sector.

As farming increasingly adopts technologies such as IoT sensors, automated irrigation systems, drones, and smart farm equipment, the agriculture ecosystem is becoming more connected—expanding the potential cyber-attack surface. The 4,500 sq. ft. facility provides a live simulation environment where organisations can test, validate, and strengthen cybersecurity controls for connected technologies without affecting real-world operations.

For agriculture, the facility can help secure technologies that power precision farming, greenhouse automation, irrigation networks, and agri-logistics systems. By simulating real-world cyber-threat scenarios, ConnectSafe enables agri-tech providers, agribusinesses, and digital agriculture platforms to identify vulnerabilities across devices, sensors, cloud platforms, and operational technology systems used in modern farming.

This becomes increasingly important as India accelerates its digital agriculture transformation and builds interconnected platforms linking farmers, supply chains, and digital marketplaces.

“ConnectSafe represents a bold step in shaping the future of India’s cyber resilience. As industries become increasingly connected—from smart factories and power systems to vehicles and medical devices—cyber threats are no longer limited to IT systems; they directly impact the operational backbone of our economy. Through ConnectSafe, organisations can experience real-world threat scenarios, gain deeper visibility into emerging risks, and strengthen safeguards to protect critical infrastructure, operations, and innovation,” said Romal Shetty, Chief Executive Officer, Deloitte South Asia.

“Built in India for India, ConnectSafe is Deloitte’s cybersecurity innovation hub where the physical and digital worlds come together. As connected technologies accelerate and cyber disruptions grow more complex, our facility enables organisations to proactively test, validate, and secure next-generation systems—from micro-level components to large-scale infrastructure. By bringing together advanced cyber testing, threat intelligence, and system validation capabilities, we help organisations strengthen cyber preparedness and stay ahead of evolving threats,” said Gaurav Shukla, Partner and Leader – Cyber, Deloitte South Asia.

With the expansion of smart farming, IoT-enabled equipment, and digital agriculture platforms, experts note that cyber disruptions could potentially affect irrigation systems, crop monitoring technologies, or agricultural supply chains. Through ConnectSafe, organisations can proactively test and strengthen security mechanisms to help protect agricultural technologies, farmer livelihoods, and the reliability of India’s food production ecosystem in an increasingly digital landscape.
