
India Gate Uplife unveils precision-pour packaging to help consumers reduce excess oil use, marking a design-led push into India’s growing health and wellness food segment
India Gate Uplife, the health-focused foods brand from India Gate Foods and part of KRBL Limited, has launched India’s first-ever ‘Go Less’ oil control packaging format under its Uplife range of healthy cooking oils. Announced in New Delhi, the new packaging aims to promote precision pouring and mindful oil consumption among urban, health-conscious consumers, addressing a long-standing issue in Indian kitchens—uncontrolled oil usage.
The innovation builds on the brand’s larger vision of simplifying healthier lifestyle choices through practical product design. Recognising that oil consumption is often difficult to track in everyday cooking, the company developed the ‘Go Less’ oil control pack in a specially designed PET bottle that allows measured pouring with every use. By integrating behavioural insights with functional design, the packaging helps bridge the gap between consumers’ health aspirations and daily cooking habits, encouraging reduced oil usage without compromising convenience.
Speaking on the launch, Ayush Gupta, Head – India Business at KRBL Limited, said the innovation aligns with the company’s ambition to expand India Gate Uplife as a holistic health and wellness brand. According to Gupta, the company aims to build on the longstanding trust associated with the India Gate brand while introducing purposeful innovations that make healthier living simpler and more accessible for young and emerging Indian consumers.
Echoing this vision, Kunal Sharma, Vice President – Marketing and Organised Trade at KRBL Limited, noted that the new packaging was designed after closely listening to consumer feedback. He highlighted that many health-conscious households want to reduce oil consumption but struggle with portion control during cooking. The new format therefore focuses on enabling consumers to use less oil without disrupting their regular cooking routines.
The India Gate Uplife oil portfolio currently includes two variants—India Gate Uplife Weight Watchers Oil and India Gate Uplife Gut Pro Oil—both now available in the new ‘Go Less’ packaging. The pack features a precision-flow cap for controlled pouring, an ergonomic bottle shape with textured grip for easy handling, and a transparent scale along the side that allows users to track oil consumption. The bottle’s unbreakable and reusable design also helps minimise exposure to air and moisture, reducing the risk of oxidation and maintaining product freshness.
The new pack has been launched exclusively on Swiggy Instamart and is already gaining traction among early adopters. The company plans to expand availability across major modern trade outlets and leading e-commerce platforms in the coming months as it strengthens its footprint in India’s rapidly evolving health-focused cooking oil segment.
