Avis India expands rural footprint with ‘Tool for Trade’ mobility solution for agriculture

Targets agri-led states to support field operations, dealer networks, and rural enterprise mobility

Avis India has announced the nationwide rollout of its ‘Tool for Trade’ offering, a managed mobility solution designed to support businesses operating across India’s agricultural and rural ecosystems. The initiative marks the company’s push to extend its services beyond urban corporate mobility and into sectors where reliable on-ground transportation is critical to operations.

The offering is tailored for organisations that rely heavily on field mobility, including agri-input companies, farm machinery manufacturers, seed and fertiliser firms, agrochemical companies, and field sales and service teams. By providing professionally managed vehicle fleets, the solution aims to ensure uninterrupted mobility for personnel operating across diverse terrains spanning urban, semi-urban, and rural landscapes.

The rollout will initially focus on key agriculture-driven states such as Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Telangana, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Rajasthan. These regions serve as major hubs for agricultural equipment distribution, fertiliser and seed supply chains, and rural channel networks, making efficient field mobility essential for industry operations.

Under the ‘Tool for Trade’ program, companies can access a fleet of vehicles suited to field conditions, including the Mahindra Bolero, Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Toyota Innova Crysta, Hyundai Venue, and Maruti Suzuki Brezza. The service combines flexible leasing models with professionally maintained vehicles and nationwide operational support to ensure reliability across varied terrain and operating conditions.

Industry players often face challenges managing fleets internally, from maintenance and compliance to driver management and operational logistics. Avis India’s model enables organisations to outsource these responsibilities, allowing them to focus on core business functions such as expanding distribution networks and improving field productivity while reducing administrative complexity.

Commenting on the initiative, Aman Naagar, Managing Director of Avis India, said, “India’s agricultural economy relies on reliable field mobility and minimal downtime. With Tool for Trade, we are extending our managed mobility capabilities beyond traditional corporate travel into core operating sectors that drive economic growth. Our objective is to provide businesses with a structured, compliant, and scalable mobility solution that improves on-the-ground efficiency.”

The launch underscores Avis India’s broader strategy to diversify into non-urban mobility segments, positioning managed fleet services as a productivity enabler for industries operating across India’s expanding rural and agricultural economy.
