ICAR-NIVEDI wins National e-Governance Award 2025 (Gold) for NADRES-V2

The ICAR–National Institute of Veterinary Epidemiology and Disease Informatics (NIVEDI), Bengaluru, has been awarded the National e-Governance Award 2025 (Gold) by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Government of India. The prestigious award was presented by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State, DARPG, during the 28th National Conference on e-Governance held in Visakhapatnam today.

NIVEDI’s NADRES-V2 (National Animal Disease Referral Expert System) earned the accolade in the category of “Innovation by Use of AI and Other New Age Technologies for Providing Citizen-Centric Services.” The platform integrates GIS, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning to forecast 15 major livestock diseases at the district level. Risk alerts are disseminated to farmers and veterinarians via SMS and digital advisories, providing timely and actionable intelligence for disease management.

This year, DARPG received 589 entries nationwide, of which only 10 initiatives were selected for Gold Awards. NADRES-V2 shares this distinction with other national leaders such as DigiYatra (Ministry of Civil Aviation) and the India Meteorological Department (IMD), underscoring NIVEDI’s place among India’s top digital innovations.

The award was received on behalf of ICAR-NIVEDI by the NADRES team, including Dr. B.R. Gulati, Director, ICAR-NIVEDI, Dr. Divakar Hemadri, Assistant Director General, Animal Health, and other senior officials who spearheaded the development and operationalization of the platform.

ICAR-NIVEDI acknowledges the guidance and unwavering support of ICAR Headquarters and the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying (DAHD) in enabling and strengthening its initiatives, reflecting a commitment to leveraging technology for citizen-centric livestock health management.
