Rubber Research Institute of India launches ‘CRISP’ mobile app for natural rubber sector

The app offers details on regions vulnerable to landslides and floods, along with recommended farming practices

The Rubber Research Institute of India, in collaboration with the Digital University of Kerala, has launched a mobile application called ‘CRISP’ (Comprehensive Rubber Information System Platform).

The app serves as a comprehensive resource for rubber cultivation, integrating Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs), WebGIS, and Information & Communication Technology (ICT). It provides location-specific information on rubber clones, fertilizer recommendations, pest and disease management, as well as guidance on rubber tapping and processing. Users can also access details about Rubber Producers’ Societies (RPS), Group Processing Centres (GPC), Rubber Board offices, and nurseries.

In addition, CRISP offers alerts on flood- and landslide-prone areas, along with tailored advice on appropriate and avoidable farming practices in those regions. The app has also been enhanced to display domestic and global market prices for various grades of natural rubber, including sheet rubber, latex, cup lump, and block rubber.
