Groupe MRP accelerates global reach through partnerships with African and Arab countries

Driving sustainable farming, food security, and agri-innovation across 78 countries under the leadership of Sumit Govind Sharma, Global Managing Director of Groupe MRP and President of the Indo-African Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Groupe MRP has officially launched as a forward-looking corporate entity, placing agriculture at the center of its mission to foster transformative collaborations between India, Africa, and the Arab world. The initiative aims to leverage agricultural innovation and sustainable practices to build economic bridges across 78 countries—54 African and 24 Arab—through six specialized business units, or divisions: Agriculture, Healthcare, Skill Development, Tourism, Hospitality, and Insurance.

Under the leadership of Sumit Govind Sharma, Global Managing Director of Groupe MRP and President of the Indo-African Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the organization seeks to position India as a key partner in global agricultural collaboration. Sharma emphasizes that the initiative is about more than business expansion; it is about creating shared prosperity by linking Indian expertise in agri-technology with Africa’s fertile landscapes and Arab markets. Each division is led by experienced professionals, ensuring strategic execution and specialized impact, with agriculture serving as the flagship of this collaboration.

The Agriculture Division is co-led by Dr. Nupur N. Nagwekar, PhD in Biotechnology, and Kshitij Nagvekar, AgTech entrepreneur and co-founder of Blessings from the Earth. Together, they bring scientific expertise and entrepreneurial vision to drive sustainable, scalable farming solutions. Their programs focus on precision agriculture, hydroponics, homestead farming kits, and digital farm management tools to enhance yields, optimize resource use, and improve food security. By sharing India’s agricultural innovations, this division will help farmers in Africa and Arab countries adopt climate-resilient crops, modern cultivation practices, and value-chain strategies, creating long-term productivity gains and economic returns for rural communities.

Groupe MRP’s agriculture-first approach also strategically integrates other divisions. Skill Development programs will equip youth and women with practical agricultural skills, while Healthcare initiatives will address nutrition and rural wellness. Tourism and Hospitality efforts will promote agri-tourism, connecting local produce with culinary and cultural experiences, and the Insurance division will provide farmers with risk management tools and crop protection coverage, ensuring sustainable livelihoods across partner regions.

The initiative leverages the strengths of all regions involved: India contributes technological and scientific expertise; Africa offers extensive arable land and market potential; and Arab countries bring capital, logistics infrastructure, and market access. By combining these resources, Groupe MRP seeks to improve trade efficiency, enhance investment flows, and strengthen regional food security while supporting climate-resilient agricultural practices.

Looking ahead, Groupe MRP plans to establish regional agricultural hubs, partner with local farming enterprises, and develop programs tailored to each country’s unique needs. Through this agriculture-led strategy, the organization aims to make farming a driver of long-term economic growth, shared prosperity, and sustainable development across India, Africa, and the Arab world. By focusing on AgTech, innovation, and cross-border collaboration, Groupe MRP is redefining how agriculture can serve as a cornerstone of international cooperation.
