In India too, soaring temperature and erratic rainfall continue to impact crop yield and favor weed & pest proliferation. It is under such unfavourable conditions that biostimulants aid in enhancing the yield of the crops. The global and Indian biostimulant market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 11.8 per cent and 12.5% respectively by 2031. The fresh infusion of capital will enable Satyukt Analytics to expand its satellite network, enhance its analytics infrastructure, and further refine its algorithms.

Satyukt Analytics Private Limited, a Bengaluru-based agri analytics startup that uses satellite technology and machine learning to provide SaaS based advisory services in a direct to farmer manner through sat2farm mobile app to farmers, including small and marginal farmers, is ecstatic to announce a successful pre-Series A funding round led by NABVENTURES. This funding enables Satyukt to accelerate the growth of sat2farm app that empowers farmers with data-driven insights, sat2credit app that helps BFSI players to evaluate a farm’s creditworthiness and credit risk and introduce new products such as sat4agri for agri input companies and sat4risk for agri insurers.

Satyukt has a proprietary technology that can measure farm soil nutrients content within minutes enabling stakeholders to assess soil quality on their mobile devices without having to visit the farm. Assessing creditworthiness in the agricultural sector has historically been difficult due to limited access to reliable data and remote locations. Sat2credit is a revolutionary tool for BFSI industry as it provides in-depth farm-level analysis and insights enabling banks and financial institutions to make customised digital lending decisions. Using Sat2credit, the lenders can assess the creditworthiness, determine the credit scores of potential borrowers, structure loans more effectively, expedite the lending process for farmers, and tailor loan offerings to meet their specific needs. Sat2Credit’s exhaustive analysis offers vital insights into producers’ financial health, productivity, and risk profile.

NABARD Chairman, Shaji K. V. mentioned, “Satyukt is a unique agritech startup harnessing the power of satellite data and remote sensing for the benefit of farmers. The potential is immense for Satyukt and it is a good candidate for inclusion in the AgriStack platform announced by the Central Government”.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with NABVENTURES on our journey to revolutionise the agriculture industry. We have put the power of advanced data analytics and remote sensing at the fingertips of our app users. Dr Sat Kumar, CEO of Satyukt, commented, “By leveraging these cutting-edge technologies, we enable agriculture stakeholders to access and utilise accurate, real-time data that can drive their decision-making processes and positively impact their operations.”

NABVENTURES Fund in which NABARD is an anchor investor, is the leading agri, food and rural tech VC fund in India with investments in Jai Kisan, Unnati, Vilcart etc. Mr. Rajesh Ranjan, CEO of NABVENTURES, remarked, “Satyukt Analytics is the only startup in India to measure nutrients in soil using satellite data. It is the only satellite data analytics startup, which works directly with farmers through its sat2farm app using a b2c approach while all other players have chosen the b2b2c route. Satyukt is a global SaaS in the making and has the best satellite data analytics and remote sensing team with advanced AI/ML capabilities. Satyukt’s sat2credit platform is a great product for inclusion in loan management systems (LMS) of digital lenders and fintechs”.

Making ‘Shriram Farm Solutions’ India’s sole distributor of Nano-Yield technology

In a first-of-its kind agreement to license distribution of its liquid nano technology outside of the United States, Nano-Yield™ has signed a technology transfer agreement with Shriram Farm Solutions (A Unit of DCM Shriram Ltd.). Under the agreement, ‘Shriram’ will hold a technology transfer, supply and purchase agreement to use Nano-Yield’s nano liquid technology for its Indian customer base.

Nano-Yield CEO and co-founder, Clark Bell, emphasised the importance of the agreement both for the company and for Indian agriculture. “We are happy to collaborate with Shriram Farm Solutions as we will transfer our liquid nano-technology to them which will further be used to enhance the efficiency of Shriram’s products. The products will be available for millions of Indian farmers and would further help improve their productivity.”

‘Shriram’ understands the importance of the future role of nanotechnology in India’s agricultural economy. “Nano technology plays a critical role in agriculture,” says Sanjay Chhabra, Executive Director & Business Head at Shriram Farm Solutions.

He added “As we at ‘Shriram’ will have access to the Nano technology it will help effectively tackle the issue of Nutrition Use Efficiency (NUE) and contribute to enhancing various factors that aid crops in combating the adverse effects of climate-induced abiotic stress. This will pave the way for a shift towards sustainable agriculture, as nanotechnology significantly enhances the effectiveness of plant nutrition and liquid applications for crop protection, improving overall efficiency.”

“Our collaboration gives us the opportunity to bring the critical nano-technology to a vast array of agri-inputs, eventually helping in broad-basing nano-tech products for Indian farmers,” says Chhabra.

With the initial license of its technology, Nano-Yield expects to help ‘Shriram’ initially focus on two main crops for the Indian farmers; rice and wheat, which are the country’s major field crops. There is also an expectation that the product will quickly be used to enhance and improve growing and harvesting of table grapes and bananas too. Other tropical fruits and vegetables will also see improved results.

“Before launch, the products will go through extensive trials in the Indian agro-climatic conditions,” says Chhabra. “Post trial, we will jointly develop products for the Indian market. Our goal is to work with Nano-Yield to come out with truly differentiated products which will address unique challenges of Indian growers, which in turn will improve farmer income.”

“This is a landmark agreement for us to work with such a large manufacturing presence,” says Bell. “‘Shriram’ has a pan-India presence and major stake in the Indian agri-input market. At Nano-Yield we are working on several potential deals, hence collaborating with such a respected company as Shriram Farm Solutions will serve notice to companies and countries worldwide, that we are not just here ‘dipping our toes’ into these kinds of agreements.”

Marco Guirado, Nano-Yield Vice President of International Sales is extremely pleased with this new agreement, but also understands it is the first in many important steps to come. “Now we turn to implementation and that is going to be very important for both Nano-Yield and Shriram,” he says. “We know our technology works and we know the Indian farmers will benefit from the same. This multi-year agreement will provide positive results and prove more than advantageous for the country’s famers.”
