Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.’s Farm Equipment Sector (FES), part of the Mahindra Group, and the world’s largest tractor manufacture by volume, has launched a new 6 row paddy transplanter called the Mahindra 6RO Paddy Walker in Tamil Nadu.

With paddy as a key crop, Tamil Nadu is renowned for its world-class rice quality, varieties and production capabilities, and as an early adopter of rice mechanisation technologies. Setting new benchmarks in paddy transplanting, Mahindra’s new advanced paddy transplanting machine provides for excellent operator efficiency and is engineered for precision and efficient transplanting in six rows simultaneously in a single pass. Ensuring uniform transplanting across the operational field, the Mahindra 6RO Paddy Walker is manually driven, is compact in design and is easy to manoeuvre even in confined spaces, significantly reducing labor cost, over an otherwise labour-intensive process.

With a focus on power, reliability and performance, the new paddy transplanter boasts a highly durable gearbox and engine, guaranteeing higher output and lower fuel consumption, maximizing productivity in paddy cultivation, as well as extended service intervals.  Total tractor sales (Domestic + Exports) during February 2024 were at 21672 units, as against 25791 units for the same period last year.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.’s Farm Equipment Sector (FES), part of the Mahindra Group, announced its tractor sales numbers for February 2024.Domestic sales in February 2024 were at 20121 units, as against 24619 units during February 2023. Total tractor sales (Domestic + Exports) during February 2024 were at 21672 units, as against 25791 units for the same period last year. Exports for the month stood at 1551 units.

Commenting on the performance, Hemant Sikka, President – Farm Equipment Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said “We have sold 20121 tractors in the domestic market during February 2024. Southern and western states continue to face agri stress due to erratic and deficient monsoon. However, Rabi crop outlook is very good, with wheat crop likely to be a bumper crop. Harvesting has started in few states with the government supporting early procurement of wheat crop. Continued government support through various rural schemes and enhanced institutional credit will further help boost tractor demand going forward. In the export market, we have sold 1551 tractors, a growth of 32 per cent over last year.”

Exports for the month stood at 1,300 units.

Commenting on the performance, Hemant Sikka, President – Farm Equipment Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, “We have sold 27,626 tractors in the domestic market during January 2023, registering a growth of 31% over last year. We are off to a good start to the year with promising Rabi crop outlook as sowing acreage for key crops of wheat, pulses and oil seeds has already surpassed previous year levels, supported by conducive soil and weather conditions. This bodes well for the coming months, as the farmers start harvesting this bumper crop. In addition, continued government focus and higher investment in this sector will aid positive sentiments and boost tractor demands. In the exports market, we have sold 1300 tractors.”

Mahindra & Mahindra Limited’s Farm Equipment Sector (FES), part of the Mahindra Group, has recently announced its tractor sales numbers for June 2022. Domestic sales in June 2022 were at 39825 units, as against 46875 units during June 2021.

Total tractor sales (Domestic + Exports) during June 2022 were at 41848 units, as against 48222 units for the same period last year. Exports for the month stood at 2023 units.

Commenting on the performance, Hemant Sikka, President – Farm Equipment Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Limited said, “We have sold 39825 tractors in the domestic market during June 2022. With good prices for Rabi output, cash flow with farmers is good. Government’s approval on increase in MSP for all Kharif crops and forecast of a normal monsoon is very positive for a bumper Kharif crop. Though Kharif sowing is lagging in the first fortnight of the season than last year due to deficient rainfall in key kharif states, further advancement of Southwest monsoons across the country brings in positive sentiments and is likely to boost the tractor demands in the coming months. In the exports market, we have sold 2023 tractors with a growth of 50 per cent over last year”.

Domestic sales in May 2022 were at 34153 units, as against 22843 units during May 2021.Total tractor sales (Domestic + Exports) during May 2022 were at 35722 units, as against 24184 units for the same period last year. Exports for the month stood at 1569 units.

Commenting on the performance, Hemant Sikka, President – Farm Equipment Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, “We have sold 34153 tractors in the domestic market during May ’22, a growth of 50 per cent over last year. This is on the back of 51 per cent growth achieved in the month of April ’22. With the timely arrival of the south-west monsoon and forecast of a normal monsoon, kharif crop is expected to deliver record production. Food prices continue to be high, ensuring better remuneration for farmers for their produce, creating a positive sentiment and higher demand for tractors and agri implements. In the exports market, we have sold 1569 tractors, a growth of 17 per cent over last year.”
