Having engaged over 300,000 stakeholders nationwide, AquaEx India brings its 10th edition to the Northeast for the first time, spotlighting a region with growing fisheries and aquaculture potential
AquaEx India, one of South Asia’s fastest-growing fisheries and aquaculture platforms, will host its first-ever Northeast edition on June 12-13, 2026, at the Maniram Dewan Trade Centre (MDTC) in Guwahati, Assam.
The AquaEx Northeast 2026 edition will bring together farmers, exporters, technology providers, policymakers, scientists and international stakeholders to strengthen collaboration across the fisheries and aquaculture value chain while showcasing the Northeast’s growing potential as an aquaculture hub. The event is being jointly organised by the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB), the Government of Assam and AquaEx India.
Founded by Venu Dantuluri, AquaEx India was launched in 2018 at HITEX, Hyderabad, with participation from 16 countries, becoming one of India’s pioneering international fisheries expositions. Since then, the platform has expanded to key aquaculture centres including Bhimavaram and Lucknow, with plans to reach every major aquaculture state in the country by 2028.
AquaEx Northeast is positioned as a strategic platform to unlock opportunities in a region that has historically received limited industry attention despite its rich water resources and strong fisheries potential. Organisers said the event will connect regional stakeholders with national markets, international buyers, emerging technologies and investment opportunities spanning the entire aquaculture value chain, from hatchery development and feed technologies to cold-chain infrastructure and exports.
“The Northeast represents one of India’s most promising yet under-engaged fisheries regions. By bringing AquaEx to Guwahati, we aim to create stronger connections between local producers, national markets, global buyers and emerging technologies. Our objective is to help unlock new opportunities for sustainable growth across the region’s aquaculture ecosystem,” said Venu Dantuluri, Founder of AquaEx India.
Across nine editions, AquaEx India has engaged more than 300,000 stakeholders and facilitated an estimated Rs 4,000-6,000 crore worth of business annually through its exhibitions, conferences, technical sessions and policy dialogues.
The Guwahati event will also mark a significant milestone as the 10th edition of AquaEx India, further strengthening the platform’s national footprint and commitment to expanding industry engagement across emerging aquaculture regions.
AquaEx India specially curated the event to serve the freshwater fisheries, and aquaculture sector in the Northeast and highly potential inland fish-producing states.
Following the Northeast edition, AquaEx India will return to Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh, for its next event scheduled from October 8-10, 2026.
