John Deere introduces the new 5130M tractor and advanced precision farming technologies to boost productivity and sustainability for Indian farmers.

Deere & Company, the parent company of John Deere, hosted its Power & Technology 7.0 event in India, unveiling the new 5M Series tractor—John Deere 5130M Tractor with 130 horsepower—alongside a suite of advanced agricultural technologies aimed at improving productivity and sustainability in farming operations.

A global leader in agricultural, construction and forestry technology, John Deere has played a significant role in advancing mechanisation and digital solutions across global markets. With more than 27 years of operations in India, the company continues to expand its portfolio of technology-driven solutions designed to improve farm productivity while promoting soil health, water conservation and environmental sustainability.

Speaking at the event, Rajesh Sinha, Managing Director and Country Manager of John Deere India and Strategic Advisor to the President of Construction & Forestry Worldwide at John Deere, said the company’s strategy is centered on integrating precision agriculture and digital technologies to create smart, connected machines. According to Sinha, these solutions are designed to help farmers produce more with fewer resources by optimising field operations, reducing input costs and enabling precise crop management practices.

The event also highlighted several advanced technologies introduced for the Indian market, including the Front Hitch and Front Power Take-Off (PTO) system for the new 5130M tractor. Additional innovations showcased included 5E AutoTrac Straight-Row Vehicle Guidance System for improved guidance accuracy, GreenSystem Link Connectivity Solution for machine connectivity, and fully equipped radial tyre options for the John Deere 5405 Tractor and John Deere 5075E Tractor models.

Ramakant Garg, Sales and Marketing Director for India at John Deere, said the company is aligning advanced farm technologies with evolving agronomic practices to support the future of agriculture. The Power & Technology 7.0 platform, he noted, reflects John Deere’s commitment to equipping farmers with integrated solutions that enhance operational efficiency and productivity.

John Deere’s presence in India extends beyond manufacturing and sales, encompassing research and development, engineering, global IT, supply chain management and road construction equipment. The company also exports its products to more than 110 countries, making India a strategic hub for its global operations.

Highlighting the broader policy landscape, Mukul Varshney, Government Affairs Director (Region 1) at John Deere, said the company is aligned with the government’s long-term sustainability vision for 2047. He noted that collaboration with academia, research institutions and industry partners is helping build an ecosystem that can strengthen farmers’ competitiveness and enable them to meet global agricultural standards.

Through the launch of the 5M Series tractor and new digital farming technologies, John Deere aims to reinforce its commitment to empowering farmers with innovative solutions that enhance productivity, sustainability and long-term resilience in agriculture.
