Accelerating progress toward Net Zero 2070 through Sustainable Aviation Fuel technologies

In a power-packed the session on “Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Production Technologies” brought together global leaders and innovators to discuss how SAF can transform aviation and accelerate progress toward Net Zero 2070 at India BioEnergy & Tech Expo 2025.

Dr SSV Ramakumar, Chairperson, IFGE: Sustainable Aviation Fuel Forum (SAFF), EVP/CTO, Greenko / AM Green Group chaired the session, setting the context for India’s SAF roadmap, emphasizing the importance of leveraging domestic feedstocks, technology pathways, and policy support to scale SAF adoption.

Vineet Bakshi, Director – Business Development, India, LanzaJet informed the audience about how LanzaJet is leading SAF revolution by deploying projects globally based own their proprietary Alcohol-to-jet technology through successful collaboration with all stakeholders.

 Deepak Bisht, Sr. Director, UOP highlighted UOP’s comprehensive SAF technology suite, including Ethanol-to-SAF pathways, aligning with India’s sustainability targets and helping decarbonize aviation fuel supply chains.

Siddhartha Saha, Managing Director, Axens discussed Axens pathways for SAF – from biomass to renewable fuels (BioTJet) and e-fuels from CO₂ + H₂, citing global collaborations like Norsk-e-Fuel as examples of scalable, low-carbon solutions.

Palak Dugar, Director, Visolis Inc. introduced MEV platform technology that enables decarbonization at a global scale and provides high-performance SAF blend components.

Gaurav Goyal, Joint Vice President – SAF, Praj Industries spoke on Praj’s biorefinery model and their alcohol-to-renewable-hydrocarbon demonstration facility, showcasing India’s capability to produce SAF domestically.

Dr Raghunath Reddy G V, Scientist F, CEST Division, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India highlighted the role of clean energy solutions for a sustainable future, linking India’s SAF journey to Panchamrit commitments and NDC targets, underlining the need for collaboration and scale-up.
