UPL has announced a strategic investment in Hybrid Seeds Vietnam Company Limited, reinforcing its push to deepen its presence in Southeast Asia’s seeds market. The acquisition, completed on December 22, 2025, is being executed through UPL’s step-down subsidiary, Advanta Holdings B.V., and marks a targeted expansion of the company’s seeds and related businesses in Vietnam.

Under the transaction, Advanta Holdings B.V. has acquired 100 per cent of the shares of Hybrid Seeds for a total consideration of $ 2,000. Hybrid Seeds Vietnam Company Limited is a newly incorporated entity, established on October 3, 2024, and is engaged in seeds and allied activities. The modest transaction value reflects the early-stage nature of the company, while providing UPL with a fully owned platform to scale its operations in the Vietnamese market.

UPL said the investment aligns with its broader strategy of strengthening its global seeds portfolio and building region-specific capabilities across high-growth agricultural markets. Vietnam, with its diverse cropping systems and growing demand for improved seed varieties, represents a strategic geography for the expansion of Advanta’s seed technologies and market reach.

The acquisition is expected to be completed on or before December 31, 2025. Through this move, UPL aims to consolidate its footprint in Vietnam’s seeds sector, leveraging its global expertise to support local agriculture while advancing its long-term growth ambitions in the Asia-Pacific region.
