ASPA elects new governing body for 2025–2027, reinforces mission to combat counterfeiting

The Authentication Solution Providers’ Association (ASPA), the non-profit industry body representing the authentication and traceability solutions industry since 1998, today announced the election of its new Governing Body for the 2025–2027 term. The elections were held during the Association’s Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, September 11, 2025.

Leading the new team is Ankit Gupta, Joint Managing Director of Holostik India Limited, who has been elected as President. He is joined by Nakul Pasricha, Managing Director & CEO of PharmaSecure, as Vice President; Sanjay Kumbhat, Director of Kumbhat Holographics, as General Secretary; and Saurabh Agarwal, Vice President & General Manager, Avery Dennison South Asia, as Treasurer. Manoj Kochar, Director of Holoflex Limited, will serve as Ex-Officio (Past President), with Smitesh Surana, Director of Everest Holovisions Limited, joining as a Governing Body Member, and Ranesh Bajaj, Director of VINSAK, co-opted as a Governing Body Member.

The transition comes at a time when ASPA has made significant headway in cementing its role as a trusted voice in the fight against counterfeiting, smuggling, and illicit trade. Under the 2023–2025 Governing Body, the Association strengthened its industry presence through data-driven reports, collaborations with global stakeholders, targeted policy advocacy, and capacity-building initiatives. These efforts have positioned ASPA as a key enabler of authentication and traceability solutions across critical sectors including pharmaceuticals, FMCG, food and beverages, agrochemicals, automotive, and consumer durables.

Looking ahead, the new Governing Body has outlined a clear roadmap to take ASPA’s mission to the next level. The Association will focus on four key areas: Intensifying advocacy and policy engagement by working closely with government and regulatory agencies to advance anti-counterfeiting legislation and traceability frameworks; expanding awareness and knowledge sharing through research publications, seminars, and nationwide campaigns targeting brand owners, consumers, and policymakers; encouraging innovation by promoting adoption of cutting-edge authentication technologies and adherence to global standards; and deepening industry collaboration by building stronger partnerships with stakeholders worldwide to create a united front against counterfeit and illicit trade.

In his first address as President, Ankit Gupta shared a personal and forward-looking message with members. “It is an absolute honor to be elected as the President of ASPA and to have the opportunity to lead our industry association alongside such an accomplished Governing Body,” he said. “Over the next two years, we are committed to making this journey memorable—marked by learning, growth, collaboration, and strong advocacy for our collective cause. I am humbled to carry forward his legacy, and I am sure he would be proud to see life come full circle. Together with our members, we will strive to make the world a safer and counterfeit-free place.”

With its renewed leadership and sharpened focus, ASPA is poised to strengthen its role as a catalyst for innovation, collaboration, and industry-wide action. The Association remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding brands, protecting consumers, and promoting technology-driven solutions that contribute to a secure, transparent, and resilient economy.
